A Message to the Senior Class of 2022:
Some of the following scholarship opportunities ask for the document to be returned to the Student Services Department.  In order to submit you have the following options:                             - email all documents to [email protected]
- bring hard copies of documents to Mrs. Young in Student Services
with either option, Mrs. Young will ensure that they will be submitted to the applicable scholarship program. Please include your name, scholarship you are applying for, and contact information.

4/25/2022  $500 Barron County Master Gardeners

The Barron County Master Gardeners would like to honor a senior looking to pursue an education in a horticulture program- landscape design, turf management, or general program, with a min GPA of 3.0.

4/26/2022  TBD Brill Area Sportsmen's Club

The Brill Area Sportsmen's Club strives to promote further understanding, appreciation, utilization, and enhancement of our nature space. The club presents scholarships to those individuals who are engaged in studies intended to lead to career goals employing conservation principles, natural resource management, ecosystem management, or environmental and related sciences. The number of scholarship awarded and the dollar amount of each award will depend upon the particular applicant's evaluation and the total monies available from the scholarship fund.

4/29/2022  $2,000 Merlyn Catherine Black Memorial Scholarship

Meryn Catherine Black was born in Rice Lake in 1920, graduated in 1938, and was laid to rest in 2006. She was a strong woman who loved to read, but did not have the opportunity to reach her full potential. Her family has created this scholarship in her memory for a young woman who plans on attending UW-Madison in the fall to assist them in reaching their full potential.

4/29/2022  $2,500 Paul and Virginia Larson

The Paul and Virginia Larson Scholarship was created to give the opportunity for someone to attend college that may not have the means, or the scholastic excellence to get adequate financial support. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.67 and a sufficient ACT or SAT score to qualify for college. The $2,500 grant may be used to underwrite one, two, or three applicants.

The Louis M. King Memorial Scholarship was created to honor a student who plans to become a teacher.

 4/29/2022 $500 Kiwanis Golden K 

Local Kiwanians has been serving the children and community of Rice Lake for more than 90 years. A Rice Lake Senior with a minimum GPA of 3.0 that possesses the personal qualities that included dedication and determination to achieve goals are encouraged to apply for the Kiwanis Golden K scholarship.

4/29/2022  $1,000 Sterling Bank

Sterling Bank would like to support young people in our communities who pursue excellence and outstanding achievement, by providing financial support for continuing education where this is need and motivation to succeed. Three (3) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to individuals graduating in the spring of 2022.

This scholarship is awarded in memory of Char Berger for her commitment to education and the value she placed in working one on one with students. The family of Char Berger would like to honor a senior at Rice Lake High School who is pursuing a degree in Teaching/Education.

Bob Foster, long-time superintendent of the Rice Lake Area School District, understood that learning was important both in the school building and within the community.  The Foster family encourages Seniors to explain to them how a learning experience that they have encountered outside of the classroom and how it influenced your decision to pursue a program of study for a scholarship

The Republic Services Scholarship is a scholarship intended for a Rice Lake High School Senior planning to further their education at the University or Technical College in an environmental field. Applicants parent(s)/guardian(s) must be a Republic Services Customer.

4/29/2022  up to $2,500 Mary Roelli Hilfiker

Mary Hilfiker was born in Rice Lake in 1945 where she later graduated in 1963. She later went on to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and the University of Nebraska- Omaha in 1971. Mary has volunteered in various organizations throughout the United States. Students who plan to attend the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire that have a minimum GPA of 2.75 with a minimum ACT score of 24 are encouraged to apply for the Mary Roelli Hilfiker Scholarship.

 4/29/2022 $750 Rice Lake Hall of Fame

The Rice Lake Sports Hall of Fame Foundation is a non-profit organization founded to recognize the outstanding efforts and accomplishments of individuals in their athletic endeavors. Applicants who have earned at least two Varsity Letters with a clean athletic record are encourage to apply.

 4/29/2022 $500 Rice Lake Teachers Union/NUE

The NUE scholarship is open to graduating students whose parents(s) or guardian(s) are a current Region 1 NUE Member/Teacher of the Rice Lake School District. The student does not need to be a Rice Lake High School student. Candidates are critiqued on leadership, community service, GPA, and quality of responses to essay questions.

4/29/2022  $600 St Joseph Parish Council of Catholic Women (CCW)

Rice Lake High School Seniors that are a confirmed member of the St. Joseph Parish who are ranked in the upper third of their class are encouraged to apply for the St. Joseph Parish Council of Catholic Church Scholarship.

4/29/2022 TBD Forrest Lee Olson Scholarship 

Forrest Lee Olson was a 1992 graduate of Rice Lake High School who played basketball, football, and baseball that went on to play college basketball.  Forrest later went on to teach high school social studies and economics and coach high school varsity girls' basketball. In 2003 Forrest was diagnosed with brain cancer but did not stop carrying on his duties. The family of Forrest Lee Olson scholarship was established as a scholarship in his honor and memory.  Students who are interested in attending a four year university in the fall to pursue a career in education/teaching that have participated in a varsity sport in high school are encouraged to apply.

This scholarship is available to students with leadership skills, good character, strong work ethic and who participate in scholastic/athletic activities and are active in the community. Applicants with a minimum 3.0 GPA who plan to attend any college or vocational-technical college that have an entrepreneurial spirit are encouraged to apply.

Foster Friess, nationally known financial advisor and noted philanthropist, has established two scholarships for students interested in a trade or vocational training program for up to two years.

Foremost Media is pleased to announce the Foremost Media Digital Marketing Scholarship award to aid in the cost of attending a post-secondary education to pursue a degree in Marketing or Web Development.

The Vintage Voyagers Street Rods of Chetek, WI, offer a scholarship to any high school senior attending Northwood or any other technical college after high school to pursue their degree in an auto related field (such as auto body, auto mechanics, or graphic design).

 5/2/2022 $1,000 Knights of Columbus

Applicants who are a confirmed member of a Catholic perish that is a current high school senior in either the Rice Lake High School, Cameron High School, Birchwood High School or recognized Catholic Home School program or a current high school senior from any other high school and a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic School in Rice Lake is eligible for the Knights of Columbus Scholarship. Each year two or more $1,000 scholarships are awarded.

 5/2/2022 $1,000 Fortnightly

Fortnightly is a women's group dedicated to volunteerism, fundraising, community service and outreach. Any Rice Lake High School senior girl who is planning to further their education is encouraged to apply. You do not need to be a Fortnightly Girl in order to be considered for this scholarship.

The Chippewa Valley Model A Car Club would like to promote the automotive industry and vintage car hobbies through providing two (2) $250 scholarships. Applicants must have financial plans to attend a technical school anywhere in the national with the purpose of enrolling in an automotive/auto body/diesel or small engines program.

5/6/2022 at noon $500 Arrowhead Family Dental 

Arrowhead Family Dental would like to offer two $500 scholarships to Rice Lake High School seniors that have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Arrowhead is interested in learning about who has influenced you the most in your life and gave you an idea of what career you would like to pursue, values or beliefs, or someone who has provided strong guidance at some point in your life by creating an essay of one page or less.

SeniorCare.com is dedicated to helping seniors and their families in their quest for a better life. SeniorCare.com wants to bring more awareness to the key issues we face by awarding an annual college scholarship to an individual that best demonstrates why "Aging Matters" to them. This scholarship can be used towards tuition, books, board and other expenses.

5/27/2022  $1,000 Wisconsin Towns Association

The Wisconsin Towns Association, Rural Mutual Insurance Company, and Scott Construction, Inc. Will be awarding $7,000 in scholarship to 2022 high school seniors that are planning on enrolling in a Wisconsin public or private college or university. Two scholarship will be awarded to the highest ranking boy and the highest ranking girls from a town or village insured by Rural Mutual as of May 1, 2022. Five additional scholarships will be awarded to the top five additional students.
