A Message to the Senior Class of 2024:
Some of the following scholarship opportunities ask for the document to be returned to the Student Services Department.  In order to submit you have the following options:                             - email all documents to [email protected]
- bring hard copies of documents to Student Services
with either option, Mrs. Drost will ensure that they will be submitted to the applicable scholarship program. Please include your name, scholarship you are applying for, and contact information.

4/12/2024 The Law Enforcement Foundation of Barron County $500 The Law Enforcement Foundation of Barron County will award this scholarship to an applicant who is planning on attending a 2 or 4 year college, university or technical school majoring in Political Science, Criminal Justice or a law enforcement-related field.

4/12/2024  Stacy Linder Memorial  $1,000  This scholarship is awarded in memory of Stacy Linder, a beloved education in the RLASD. To be eligible you must be a female senior at RLHS who is pursuing post-secondary education in any area of concentration, not limited to an education degree. Applicants must have a passion for education and aspirations to support the learning and growth of others. Applications must be emailed to Mrs. Drost.

4/15/2024  Exceptional Youth Scholarship $10,000  The Exceptional Youth Scholarship, sponsored by the Foundation for Global Sports Development, stands as a beacon of recognition for high school seniors who embody excellence in academics and a profound commitment to community service. This scholarship program is designed to empower the future leaders who have not only excelled academically but have made a significant impact through their dedication to community service.

 4/15/2024 Graybar Construction Trades Scholarship $1,000  The Graybar Construction Trades Scholarship will be awarded to students who enroll full-time as undergraduate students in an accredited nonprofit two-year college or technical school program in the construction trades. Students in apprenticeship programs will also be considered.

 4/15/2024 Robert Foster Scholarship $500  Bob Foster, long-time superintendent of the Rice Lake Area School District, understood that learning was important both in the school building and within the community. Applicants will need to write an essay answering the questions listed on the attached application. Completed essays can be emailed to Mrs. Drost.

 4/15/2024  Roger F. Sasina Memorial Scholarship $1,000  Roger Sasina was a Rice Lake High School graduate. His wish was to give back to his high school by way of a scholarship. Applicants must be a senior at RLHS with plans to pursue a career in the trades or 2-year vocational or technical school. Applicants who did not excel academically by the the ability to succeed and students who face economic obstacles in furthering their education are encouraged to apply.

4/15/2024  Sterling Bank Scholarship $1,000  The Sterling Bank scholarship is available for students who demonstrate leadership, exercise good judgement, work ethic and character, participate in scholastic and/or athletic endeavors, volunteer or engage in positive activities in the community, pursue academic excellence to their full potential and demonstrate the desire to better themselves, family and community through further study. Applications can be turned in to Mrs. Drost.

4/22/2024  Barron County Master Gardener Scholarship $500 The Barron County Master Gardener Scholarship is available to Barron County high school seniors who will be attending a 2 or 4 year college or university in a horticulture program (landscape design, turf management or general program).

 4/22/2024 Carrie Crystal Stuckert Memorial Art Scholarship  $5,000 The scholarship is available to students pursuing a Visual Arts Program major, including Art Therapy. An application, 1-2 page autobiography and 2 letters of recommendation are required.

4/22/2024   Citizens Connected Scholarship $5,000  Citizens Connected awards scholarships to high school seniors whose parents, guardians, or foster parents have service with the Cooperative. An application, essay and three letters of recommendation are required.

4/22/2024  Northwood Tech Scholarships TBD This scholarship is available through Northwood Technical College. Students who are admitted to Northwood Tech are encouraged to apply.

4/26/2024  Kiwanis Golden K Scholarship $500 The Kiwanis Golden K is offering this scholarship to a Rice Lake High School senior with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicants must possess personal qualities which include dedication and determination to achieve goals. Applications can be turned in to Student Services.

4/26/2024   Louis M. King Memorial Scholarship $750 The Louis M. King Memorial Scholarship is available to a senior at Rice Lake High School who plan to become a teacher.

4/26/2024  Merlyn Catherine Black Memorial Scholarship $2,000  Merlyn Catherine Black was born in Rice Lake in 1920, graduated from RLHS in 1938. She was a strong women who loved to read, but as a child of the Depression and young woman during WWII, didn't have the opportunity to reach her potential. Although she never received a college degree, she raised 5 children, 3 or whom obtained graduate degrees. This scholarship is given by her son, Gordon Apple and his spouse Susan Thornton, both graduates of UW-Madison. The scholarship is available to a young woman who will be attending UW-Madison. Completed applications can be turned in to Mrs. Drost.

4/26/2024  Northern Star Theatre Company Scholarship $500 The Northern Star Theatre Company offers scholarships to applicants who intend to enroll in a post-secondary institution and who have been involved in theatre/fine arts at Northern Star Theatre. An application and essay are required.

 *4/26/2024 Optimum Therapies Scholarship $250 Optimum Therapies is offering a scholarship to students seeking further education in service-oriented career fields. This is not limited to health care professionals or those with interest in physical therapy. Applications must be mailed to the address on the application.

4/26/2024  Rice Lake Teachers Union Scholarship  $500  The Rice Lake Teachers Union/NUE Scholarship is open to graduating seniors whose parent(s)/guardian(s) is/are a current Region 1 (N.U.E. Member) Teacher of the Rice Lake Area School District. The criteria for this scholarship are leadership, community service, academic FPA and quality of responses to essay questions.

 4/26/2024 St. Joseph Parish Council of Catholic Women Scholarship $300 The St. Joseph's Parish Council of Catholic Women scholarship is available for RLHS graduating seniors who are confirmed members of St. Joseph's Parish. Applicants must rank in the upper third of their class.

 4/26/2024 Wealth Management Group, LLC Scholarship $500 This scholarship is available to students with leadership skills, good character, strong work ethic and who participate in scholastic/athletic activities and are active in the community. Applicants who plan to attend any college, or vocational-technical college, have an entrepreneurial spirit are encouraged to apply.

4/28/2024  Paul and Virginia Larson Scholarship  Up to $2,500 This scholarship is available for students pursuing post-secondary education, with preference to those seeking a 4 year degree that may not have the means or the scholastic excellence to get adequate financial support. Applicants can be pursuing a two or 4 year degree.

4/29/2024  Mary Roelli Hilfiker Scholarship Up to $10,000 The Mary Roelli Hilfiker Scholarship is available for students who have been accepted to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Preference is given to female students, but males may be considered. Applicants must be pursuing a degree in STEM, nursing or education. A copy of the acceptance letter from UWEC is required. This scholarship uses the Rice Lake Area Scholarship application. Turn into Student Services.

4/30/2024  AB Nicholas Scholarship  Up to $40,000  This scholarship is available for students who have participated in basketball in their senior year, plan to attend a University of Wisconsin System school and will not be participating in Division 1 sports at the college level. The scholarship is based on need, academic achievement and character. The annual scholarships ($10,000/year for four year programs and $5,000/year for two year programs are renewable for the length of the program.

 4/30/2024  Brill Area Sportsmen's Club  TBD  The Brill Area Sportsmen's Club strives to promote further understanding, appreciation, utilization, and enhancement of our nature space. This scholarship is available to individuals who will be engaged in studies intended to lead to career goals employing conservation principles, natural resources management, ecosystems management, or environmental and related sciences.

4/30/2024   Dave Crotteau Memorial Scholarship $1,000 This scholarship is in memory of Dave Crotteau, a true Warrior Athlete and Warrior Fan. This scholarship will be awarded to one female athlete at RLHS that has played basketball and/or volleyball during high school and one male athlete at RLHS who has played football and/or basketball during high school.

5/1/2024  Vintage Voyagers Street Rods of Chetek $500 The Vintage Voyagers Street Rods of Chetek offer a scholarship to any high school senior attending Northwood Tech or any other technical college. The field of education must be auto related (auto body, auto mechanics, graphic design).

 *5/3/2024 Knights of Columbus Scholarship $1,000  The Knights of Columbus offers this scholarship for any current Rice Lake High School senior who is is a confirmed member of a Catholic parish. An application and transcript are required.

 *5/3/2024 Arrowhead Family Dental Scholarship  $500 Arrowhead Family Dental offers two $500 scholarships to Rice Lake High School seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.0. An essay (one page or less) about an individual who has provided the most influence on your life. Applicants must drop off or mail the essay and completed for to Arrowhead Family Dental in Rice Lake.

 5/15/2024 Northwood Tech Promise Scholarship TBD The Northwood Tech Promise Scholarship provides free college tuition for area high school graduates who meet program eligibility requirements. The Promise Scholarship will pay the balance of tuition and fees for eligible students after federal grants, state grants and Northwood Tech Foundation Scholarships are applied.

5/24/2024   Wisconsin Towns Association $1,000  The Wisconsin Towns Association scholarship is available for graduating seniors who plan to enroll in a Wisconsin public or private college or university. An application and essay are required.
