The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test is a standardized test administered by the College Board. It is a practice version of the SAT, but it can lead to more money for college. If you earn a high score on the PSAT your junior year, you could qualify to receive and National Merit Scholarship. The test includes reading, writing and math.

This years test was held on Wednesday, October 12th, 2022 at 8:00 am at the Rice Lake High School.

Fortnightly Girl
For many years the Rice Lake Fortnightly Club has sponsored a program in which they recognize senior girls who have excelled during their high school years. Girls selected, along with their parent(s) or guardian(s), are honored as guests at their regular meeting held during their second and fourth Tuesday of each month. Females are encouraged to complete their application for Fortnightly Girl during their JUNIOR year for consideration. Please click here for an application that can be returned to Mrs. Young in Student Services in the main office.

AP Testing

The Advanced Placement (AP) Program is a cooperative educational endeavor between secondary schools, colleges, and universities. It exposes high school students to college level material through involvement in an AP course, and it gives them the opportunity to show what they have mastered by taking an AP Exam. Colleges and universities can then grant credit, placement, or both to students who have completed the exam. The granting of credit and/or placement is at the discretion of each individual college and university.

For more information on the AP test please see the flyer
<click here for flyer>

The test will be administered during May of 2023. If a student signs up and is unable, or chooses not to take it, forfeits $40.00 to the AP program. Any student who qualifies for free or reduced lunch, should see Mr. Shomion to learn about a reduced fee.

The ASVAB is designed to help students in career exploration for interested students in grades 10-12. This years test plans to be held on Wednesday, December 7th, 2022.
